As an airline, we have certain obligations to compensate for expenses incurred due to irregularities with checked baggage.

If your checked luggage is damaged during travel, you must report the damage immediately. This can be done at the airport upon arrival or, at the latest, within seven days HERE.
A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will be created and sent to your email. A PIR is necessary to claim compensation for the damage and is valid for two years.
Airlines have limited liability for damaged luggage. Atlantic Airways compensates a maximum of 700 DKK for the purchase of new luggage, provided a valid receipt for the purchase. Therefore, we recommend that you first contact your travel insurance provider regarding compensation.

Deadlines:
• Damage reports must be made no later than seven days after arrival.
• The deadline to apply for compensation is two years from the PIR being created.
Conditions for Compensation:
• All deadlines must be adhered to.
• Valid receipt for the purchase of new luggage.
• Valid PIR.
We do not take responsibility for:
• Overpacked luggage.
• Water, rain, or snow damage.
• Normal wear and tear, e.g., scuffs, tears, broken zippers, and other minor damages.
• Items that are mishandled or easily damaged.
• Damage to the contents of the luggage.
If your checked luggage is delayed during travel, you must report it immediately. This can be done at the airport upon arrival or HERE.
It is crucial to provide as detailed information as possible, as this helps the tracking system locate your luggage. A delay report (PIR) will be created and sent to your email. Keep your PIR, as it is required if you need to apply for compensation.
We will contact you when your luggage has been located and arrives.
Deadlines Regarding Delayed luggage:
• Delay reports must be made immediately.
• The deadline to apply for compensation for purchases is 21 days after receiving the luggage.
Compensation:
We reimburse the purchase of essential items, such as toothbrushes, clothing and other essentials, provided receipts are submitted for items purchased during the period your luggage was delayed.
Compensation is provided to each traveller at a rate of 500 DKK per day, up to a maximum of three days, totalling 1,500 DKK.
Conditions for Compensation:
• All deadlines must be adhered to.
• Valid receipts for the purchase of essential items.
• Valid PIR.
• The claim pertains to outbound travel*.
*No compensation is provided for return travel.
We do not take responsibility for:
• Luggage that was incorrectly checked by an airline with which we do not cooperate.
• If the traveller chooses to leave the airport before the luggage has been placed on the conveyor belt.
Luggage that is delayed for more than 21 days is considered lost. After 21 days, it is possible to apply for full compensation for all contents of the luggage. However, this is limited to a maximum of 1,519 Special Drawing Rights* (SDR), which is the currency unit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Atlantic Airways is not liable for compensation if the luggage is delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, such as strikes, weather conditions, or other unforeseen events.
Compensation is not provided for damage to electronic or battery-powered items, such as televisions, computers, cameras, game consoles, hair dryers, straighteners, razors, toiletries, etc.
Atlantic Airways does not provide compensation for damage to personal items such as keys, jewellery, valuables, passports, and other identification documents included in checked luggage. It is recommended to carry such items as hand luggage.
Atlantic Airways does not provide compensation for food or beverages in checked luggage.
