Helicopter charter
The tasks of the helicopter department are very varied. Scheduled flights to the outer islands operate three days a week – Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. In the summer months of June, July and August there are also flights on Mondays.
On the other days, other kinds of flying are carried out, such as charter flights and sling flying. Sling flying is the transport of cargo of various kinds, which is hooked underneath the helicopter and carried to the appointed place.
The possibilities are almost unlimited. Live animals such as horses, calves and smolt can be transported. Hay, concrete, timber, sheds, backhoe loaders, oil drums, cars, tractors and more are also transported by helicopter.
