Membership terms for Súlubonus at Atlantic Airways
These are the terms governing membership of the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways. In addition to the rules and terms stated in these terms, the terms apply when taking part in the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways as set out below. By joining, a member of the Súlubonus programme has accepted these terms.
§ 1.0 Processing of your personal data
1.1 Atlantic Airways collects, uses and stores your personal data for the purpose of administering your membership with Atlantic Airways, including registering your flights and ensuring that you receive bonus points for the relevant trips on the basis of your membership of the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways.
1.2 The legitimate interests of Atlantic Airways. Atlantic Airways processes the following personal data about you:
1.2.1 Contact details, including name, address, nationality, gender, any student status, email address, telephone number and so on, for the purpose of communicating with you and ensuring that your bonus points can be identified and credited correctly.
1.3 Atlantic Airways is entitled to collect and process this personal data about you on the basis of the legitimate interests of Atlantic Airways, and it is assessed that the interest of Atlantic Airways in processing your personal data overrides your interests. The legitimate interests of Atlantic Airways are as follows:
1.3.1 Atlantic Airways is entitled to process your contact details in order to administer your member account and to contact you regarding your membership of the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways.
1.4 Confidentiality and information about the processing by Atlantic Airways of your data: All personal data is processed in confidence and will only be used for the purpose described above.
1.5 Your personal data is stored by Atlantic Airways and is shown on the website of a third-party host.
1.6 Please note that the level of protection of personal data that is applied and enforced in countries outside the European Union (EU) does not match the level of protection of personal data that is applied and enforced within the EU. The transfer of data between the group entities of Atlantic Airways will take place having regard to the standard contractual clauses of the Commission, which Atlantic Airways has adopted. You can request a copy of the standard contractual clauses entered into between Atlantic Airways and the group entities of Atlantic Airways by contacting Atlantic Airways at [email protected].
1.7 Atlantic Airways uses third-party suppliers who will have access to your personal data and process it. If a third-party supplier processes your personal data outside the EU/EEA (the European Economic Area), this will be based either on the EU-US Privacy Shield or on the standard contractual clauses of the Commission. You can request a copy of the agreement under which the transfer of personal data is arranged by contacting Atlantic Airways at [email protected].
1.8 Your personal data is stored for as long as you are a member of the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways. Your personal data is deleted when you terminate your membership, unless Atlantic Airways is required under the relevant legislation to store your personal data for a longer period.
1.9 On the basis of your personal data, Atlantic Airways will take decisions about you automatically in order to determine whether you are to have youth status. This is based on your date of birth. In addition, we take decisions automatically, based on the number of travel points, in order to determine whether you are a Gold member. If you are below the applicable age limit, you can be given youth status. If you have flown enough trips, you can become a Gold member.
1.10 Your rights. You can obtain further information about the personal data that Atlantic Airways stores and processes about you by contacting [email protected]. You can also object at any time to the processing by Atlantic Airways of your personal data, as well as request the correction or deletion of your personal data. If you wish to object to the processing of your personal data, or if you wish to have your personal data corrected, please contact [email protected] and let us know. If you wish to complain about the processing by Atlantic Airways of your personal data, you can contact Dátueftirlitið (the Faroese Data Protection Authority).
1.11 You can obtain a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format by contacting [email protected]. Where it is technically possible, you can request that your personal data be transferred to another company or person acting as data controller.
§ 2.0 Membership and membership card
2.1 Each person may hold only one membership in the Súlubonus programme. Companies and other legal persons cannot have a Súlubonus account.
2.2 If the membership is misused directly or indirectly, including where the member behaves inappropriately towards Atlantic Airways, the partner companies of Atlantic Airways, their staff or passengers, Atlantic Airways is entitled to terminate the membership immediately and without warning. Earned, unused Súlubonus points and/or unused Súlubonus tickets then lapse.
2.3 A member may at any time, by giving written notice, require that all registered data be deleted in accordance with applicable law.
2.5 If you have created a SVEIGGJ account at atlantic.fo, your Súlubonus points are registered there and it is not necessary to create a Súlubonus account.
§ 3.0 Earned Súlubonus points
3.1 Súlubonus points are only awarded for the routes on the route network of Atlantic Airways. Súlubonus points are only awarded for the route and the class that have been booked, paid for and registered in accordance with the ticket. This also applies to changes that Atlantic Airways has made for technical or operational reasons. Súlubonus points are only awarded for trips that the member has actually travelled. No Súlubonus points are awarded for tickets that have been purchased but not used. Súlubonus points are not awarded when flights are cancelled for reasons that are outside the control of Atlantic Airways or the partners of Atlantic Airways.
3.2 Only the travelling member themselves can receive Súlubonus points in connection with tickets purchased. This applies regardless of who has paid for what is purchased.
3.3 Súlubonus points received are personal and cannot be sold, transferred, inherited or redeemed for money; they may only be used for the purposes determined by Atlantic Airways. Two or more people cannot pool their Súlubonus points, for example in order to reach a threshold for a Súlubonus trip.
3.4 Súlubonus points are valid for seven years from the day on which they were earned. After that, the points lapse.
3.5 Atlantic Airways itself determines which ticket types earn Súlubonus points. Atlantic Airways is entitled to exclude ticket types and destinations from the Súlubonus programme.
3.6 In order to receive Súlubonus points, the customer must ensure that the membership number is added to the booking before departure, so that the points appear in the Súlubonus account.
3.7 Atlantic Airways determines how many Súlubonus points are earned for trips on the route network of the company. These may change without warning. See further information at atlantic.fo
3.8 Subsequent registration of points: If you have forgotten to register Súlubonus points at departure, or if you have booked a ticket outside your account, you can register your points afterwards by logging in to your Súlubonus account. You can register points afterwards for up to six months after the trip has been completed. If you have any questions about this, you can contact our customer service at [email protected]
§ 4.0 Using Súlubonus points
4.1 Súlubonus points are personal. However, the following members of the household may use the Súlubonus points, provided that the member has given permission: spouse, registered partner or cohabiting partner, as well as children in the household who are under 25 years of age. The household members mentioned may use Súlubonus points without the member themselves being on the trip.
4.2 Súlubonus trips can be booked on all routes on the route network of Atlantic Airways, but the number of seats available for Súlubonus trips is limited. In special cases, Atlantic Airways reserves the right to exclude destinations from the Súlubonus programme. Súlubonus trips can be purchased by logging in to the Súlubonus account or by contacting customer service, either by writing to [email protected] or by calling 341000. If the ticket is booked through customer service, a service fee determined by Atlantic Airways is charged.
4.3 With Súlubonus tickets you can change the travel date and the route by logging in to the Súlubonus account. A fee is charged for each individual change. If such changes are made by writing or calling customer service, a service fee is charged for each change. A name change can only be made through customer service, for a service fee. Changes can be made up to 24 hours before departure.
4.4 We offer the option of withdrawing from the booking within 24 hours from the time the purchase was made, and of having all valid Súlubonus points, charges and any other costs refunded.
4.5 If you cancel the Súlubonus ticket after the 24-hour withdrawal period and up to 24 hours before departure, Atlantic Airways charges a cancellation fee. Only valid Súlubonus points are credited back to the Súlubonus account, together with taxes and charges. Expired Súlubonus points are not returned, and any service and change fees are not refunded. If you cancel the Súlubonus ticket less than 24 hours before departure, a cancellation fee is charged. Taxes and charges are refunded, but neither valid nor expired Súlubonus points are returned, and any service and change fees are likewise not refunded.
4.6 The number of Súlubonus trips is limited, and Atlantic Airways releases Súlubonus trips on an ongoing basis, which can be booked at most 330 days ahead from the current date.
4.7 Atlantic Airways determines how many Súlubonus points are required to earn a Súlubonus ticket on the route network of the company. These may change without warning. See further information at atlantic.fo
§ 5.0 Súlubonus memberships
5.1 There are three types of membership. You can be an ordinary member, a Gold member or a BASALT member. You become a Gold/BASALT member if you collect more than 15,000/25,000 Súlubonus points in one year. You are then upgraded to Gold/BASALT level. These levels give you more benefits. More about this can be seen at atlantic.fo
5.1.2 One year is counted as 12 months from the day on which you create a Súlubonus account at atlantic.fo
5.1.3 If you have enough Súlubonus points for a Gold Súlubonus card, you can be upgraded, and this upgrade is valid for 12 months from the date of the upgrade. If you have not earned enough points (15,000) during these 12 months in which you hold Gold membership, you are placed back on the ordinary level when those 12 months have passed, and the Gold membership is deleted.
§ 6.0 General terms
6.1 When you create an account, you confirm that all the information in the account is correct and up to date.
6.2. By creating an account, you allow Atlantic Airways to send you information with news and offers.
6.3 Atlantic Airways may at any time change the terms or discontinue the Súlubonus programme. If the Súlubonus programme is discontinued, points already received can be used during the three months after notice of this has been given. This does not apply, however, if the programme is discontinued because of changes in legislation, a court decision, requirements from public authorities, changes to route networks or the like, because in that case points already received lapse without any kind of compensation.
6.4 The relevant taxes and charges, including travel taxes, are to be paid by the individual member.
6.5 The member is themselves responsible for complying with applicable tax rules and other rules that are of importance for being in the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways.
6.6 When children under 18 years of age register, they confirm at the same time that they have obtained permission to register from a parent or guardian.
§ 7.0 Disputes
All legal questions in connection with the Súlubonus programme at Atlantic Airways are settled in accordance with the legal system of the Faroe Islands.
§ 8.0 Entry into force
8.1 Súlubonus came into force on 28 March 2017.
8.2 In order to receive Súlubonus points, you must have created an account at atlantic.fo before the trip begins.
