The company
Atlantic Airways is an international company whose working culture is defined by safety, punctuality, and by always putting the customer and the results first.
Around 280 people (2026) work for the Faroese national airline, which is based in Sørvágur.
Atlantic Airways has four aircraft and two helicopters. The aircraft operate scheduled services from the Faroe Islands to a number of different destinations. In addition, the available capacity is used for charter flights to various places in Europe.
The Atlantic Airways helicopters are part of the emergency preparedness of the Faroe Islands; that means that every day, all year round, a crew is on standby and can be airborne at short notice for medical transport or for search and rescue operations at sea and on land. The helicopter also operates the scheduled service between the islands. In addition to this, Atlantic Airways owns and operates the Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy — our flight school for both A320 aircraft and AW139 helicopters — as well as the hotels Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands and Hotel Vágar.
