Import and export of plants, seeds and plant products

If you are travelling with plants, seeds or other plant products in your luggage, you must be aware that special rules may apply to import and export. The rules may vary depending on which country you are travelling to or from, and which plant or plant product is involved.

The purpose of the rules is, among other things, to prevent plant diseases and pests from being carried between countries. Certain plants, seeds, planting material and other plant products may therefore be subject to requirements for permits, certificates or inspection. In some cases it may also be prohibited to bring certain plants or plant products with you.
